3 Range Rover Winter Driving Tips

Winter is officially here, and at Autopotenza LLC., we want to make sure you’re ready to drive on the Indianapolis winter roads. We know that Range Rovers can handle themselves exceptionally well, but to stay safe, warm, and dry while traveling, we recommend following these winter driving tips.

1. Maintain Traction

It can be tempting to press on the brakes when driving on snow or ice, but the best thing to do is slow down and keep a steady hand on the wheel. If you start sliding or spinning, take your foot off the gas pedal. Once you feel the tires regain their grip, you can slowly press on the accelerator to bring the vehicle out of that particularly icy spot. New Range Rovers are also available with traction control and various terrain response options to keep you safe on winter roads.

2. Gently Press the Brakes

When you find yourself on slippery roads, avoid any harsh braking, as this can quickly result in a car accident. Instead, gently press the brakes and slowly increase pressure if the car is responding well and maintaining a steady course on the road. Take advantage of driver-assist features available on Range Rovers. Automatic braking systems (ABS) and electronic brakeforce distribution will keep your vehicle on the icy road from the moment you gently step on those brakes.

3. Carry an Emergency Kit

Having an emergency kit in your car is always a good idea, especially during the cold winter weather. We recommend keeping a bag with the following items in your Range Rover:

  • Windshield scraper and de-icer
  • Jumper cables
  • Tow rope
  • Flashlights with extra batteries
  • Extra fuses and light bulbs
  • First aid supplies
  • Snacks and bottled water.Schedule Range Rover Service Today
